Hola all! Jenn here!
My husband and I were very blessed to get to spend a week in Arizona with some great friends at the end of March, and it was so much fun!
We started our trip by flying out of Lynchburg where it was snowing:
and made our way to Phoenix where it was 80 degrees! I love palm trees!
I knew I loved palm trees, but I had no idea how much I would like the cacti:
Now for some pictures of the fun places we got to visit that I hope you can see one day!
One of the first places I wanted to share was of course….the Grand Canyon.
It was amazingly beautiful! There is really no way to put into words what it is like to walk up and see it.
They also have the best warning sign EVER:
Now for Sedona. ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING! We walked a nice trail to Bell Rock (which I kept calling Liberty Bell Rock) They were so beautiful! We even climbed on one and just sat and looked out over the desert and red rocks…..so peaceful.
Another nice walk was the Hole in the Rock. Used by native years ago as a calendar, it was a nice little hike and once at the top you could see so far!
If you have time you have to go see Montezuma’s Castle! AMAZING! A village built in the side of a mountain. All I could say the whole time was “how did they do that?” And “I want to go in it!”
Now I saved the best for last….I know your thinking there is something better than the Grand Canyon??? Well that is a matter of opinion but I LOVED Grand Falls. It is a waterfall that only flows twice a year. In the spring it flows from snow melt off the Rockies and it flows during the rainy season….and we just happened to be there when it was flowing….and to make it even better we took the incorrect route there so we ended up driving our rental car through the desert….on barely made roads on the Navajo Indian Reservation! I can not even begin to tell you how much fun that ride was! We were in with cattle, I got to see a tumbleweed ( I was very much so looking forward to that), we stopped in the middle of the desert to check a map (GPS was not picking us up), we laughed A LOT, and then we got to see a beautiful waterfall that is not always flowing!
I feel so blessed to have been able to take this trip! I had so much fun! I got to fly for the first time, I got to spend some quality one on one time with the hubby (which we all know is important), I learned that copper comes from the ground, I got to know a sweet friend even better, I had lots of laughs, I got to collect rocks for my little girl from everywhere we went (she has a rock collection), I got to be in Texas for the first time EVER ( it was only a layover at the airport, but you have no idea how exciting that was to me-I will go back one day and leave the airport!) , I got to drink cactus water (the water was not very good and our friend almost had me convinced it was cactus water), I got to discuss how certain we were that at one time Sedona and The Grand Canyon were the ocean floor, and I got to see more of this amazing world that God made! I can hardly wait for my next trip or to fly again!
Hope you enjoyed the pics!
Don’t forget to do something to make someone smile today!
